On behalf of the National Organising Committee (Uganda) and the International Organising Committee/Scientific Programme Committee, we take this opportunity to invite you to the Fifth International Conference on Agricultural Statistics (ICAS-V) to take place from 13th 15th October 2010 in Kampala, Uganda. This venue was selected during the ICAS-IV conference in Beijing, China.
The ICAS-V conference is open to all producers, suppliers, trainers and users of Agricultural Statistics, such as economists, statisticians, researchers, analysts and decision-makers from government entities, the academia, , development partners and international organisations. It is as well open to the private sector, including the business community. More details and updates regarding the conference can be found at the Conference website www.icas-v.org . A copy of the ICAS-V detailed programme and brochure can also be downloaded from the website. We request for your support and assistance in distributing the brochure and in publicising the information therein as widely as possible.
The Conference will focus on the UN report titled Global Strategy for Improving Agriculture Statistics under the theme Integrating Agricultural Statistics into National Statistical Systems. Visa Information

 

VISA APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

The Visa Section at the Uganda High Commission is open to the public Monday to Friday from 9.30 a.m. to 1.00pm only (except on Public Holidays in Uganda and the United Kingdom). The period for processing a visa application is one working day. Applications for visas may be submitted by mail or in person. A stamped, self addressed and registered envelope must be included with applications submitted by mail.
Applicants are advised to submit their completed applications well in advance of the proposed date of departure.

REQUIREMENTS FOR PASSPORT HOLDERS:

1. One duly filled application form by each applicant.
2. One passport size photograph, valid passport.
3. Valid for at least six months from the proposed date of entry.
4. Correct visa fee, letter of invitation/introduction, if travelling on business.
5. Applicants may be requested to submit additional supporting documentation.

REQUIREMENTS FOR TRAVEL DOCUMENT HOLDERS

1. Invitation letter from Ugandan company or friends.
2. Photocopies of invitee’s passport (Pages 1, 2, 3, 45 or 65) to be faxed from Uganda.
3. Bank Statements for the last three months.
4. Sponsor’s Bank Statements for the last three months
5. Evidence of travel arrangements (Booking details)
6. Leave Approval Letter from your employer/educational institution.
7. Utility Bills (i.e. Gas, Electricity, Water, Residence Telephone).
8. Please note that in addition to these requirements, you may be required to give additional information by way of interview. You are advised not to purchase a ticket before obtaining a visa.
Visa processing time for Travel Document holders is within 5 working days.

Visa Fees:

Single entry visa:
A Single entry visa is valid for three months from the date of issue and costs £25.00 (in the UK) or $50.00 (at entry point in Uganda)
Visa fees must be paid in cash (exact money please) or a postal money order payable to UGANDA HIGH COMMISSION, on submission of visa application. Cheques are not accepted. Please note that the visa fee is non-refundable.
Please note that failure to complete the application form fully may result in the issuance of a visa being delayed or refused.

Multiple entry visas:

Six-months multiple entry visas can now be issued at the Uganda High Commission, London at a cost of £65 (sixty five pounds). Other categories of multiple entry visas (12 months, 24 months & 36 months) can be applied for at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Kampala.
Multiple entry visa fees cost as follows:
Multiple entry (6 months) : £65
Multiple entry (6-12 months) : $100
Multiple (24 months) : $150
Multiple (36 months) : $200
Student entry : $100

LIST OF COUNTRIES WHOSE NATIONALS DO NOT REQUIRE A VISA TO ENTER UGANDA:

Angola, Antigua, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Burundi, Comoros, Cyprus, Eritrea, Fiji, Gambia, Grenada, Italy (Diplomatic Passport holders only), Jamaica, Ireland, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Malta, Mauritius, Madagascar, Rwanda, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Solomon Islands, St. Vincent and Grenadines, Swaziland, Tanzania, Tonga, Vanuatu, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
